Bylaws 1881-1901 (bulk 1881-1882).

This small volume contains handwritten bylaws, rules and regulations of the Nathaniel P. Lyon Post No. 13 [which later became No. 5], as adopted on 24 May 1881, and the bylaws adopted on 7 February 1882 which replaced the previous year's bylaws. The book also contains bylaws amendments dated 1882 and 1890, a printed version of the bylaws, and a list of four names under the heading "1901." The latter half of the book is blank.

The Boulder chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic, comprising veterans of the Civil War, was organized on 19 April 1881 as Boulder Post No. 13, Department of the Mountains. In 1882 the western departments were reorganized and this chapter was renamed the Nathaniel Lyon Post No. 5, Department of Colorado and Wyoming.
